A new month has arrived, but it’s last 31 days in March have paved the way for fresh sounds on the Sierra Leone music scene. New songs have started dominating playlists, and certain songs continue to dominate music charts.

Entertainers and musicians have worked together to create soundtracks to fuel the waves.

LXG, Sierra Leone’s pride in the music industry drops another banger titled “Na We Get D Pawer” Featuring Arkman aka Woro woro.

LXG is a multiple award winning group from Sierra Leonean made up of Nega Don,Pretty S and Kass. The team is known for its outstanding sounds produced over the years. Even though much was not heard from them last year, with this track among others in 2023 has proved beyond all reasonable doubts as to why they were silent.

Notwithstanding the power within them as a team, to spice up the flavour and tempo of this track, LXG teamed up with Arkman in this new track titled “Na We Get D pawer.”

This song is a great anthem that every fan of LXG to enjoy and putting the song on  repeat and also add to their playlist I bet is a must after listening to it.

4. Rozzy-Sokota-Body-Ft.-Slezzy – (103 Downloads)

Prominent Sierra Leonean act, songwriter and singer Rosemarie Baryoh stage name Rozzay Sokota  has astonished fans with her new hit single title “body” featuring Slezzy.

Since the released of her first album titled ‘Victory,’ which featured 13 gospel tracks which are still a blessing for the churches, Rozzay has been flying high like a kite in the harmattan season.

Rozzay has had many collaborations over the years with superb and ear piercing sounds for the listening pleasure of fans.

This year is not exceptional as she teamed up with Slezzy to produce this ear soothing track titled ‘body.’

3. Fantacee-Wiz-My-Vagina – (165 Downloads)

Fantacee Wiz, a multi-award winning traditional folk performer from Freetown, Sierra Leone, recently released her new monologue, My Vagina. (Spoken word).

Fantacee Wiz has a long history in the entertainment industry and has produced some of the best rare genre songs around.

Many people’s knowledge of Fantacee Wiz is not confined to the songs she writes but also to her philanthropic and pro-children work. Fantacee has done a number of campaigns such as ‘Say No To Rape’ and ‘stop Violence Against Women’.

Fantacee Wiz’s monologue, “My Vagina,” outlines the positive aspects of the vagina as well as the essential ideas that, in her opinion, define a healthy vagina.

Multi-talented Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer, Tekno has released a socially conscious single named ‘Freetown’.

On “Freetown,” Tekno draws attention to some of the difficult circumstances that the citizens of Sierra Leone and Nigeria must endure. He speaks out against poor leaders as well.

“Sierra Leone is a freetown, but the people no dey see chow,” the singer pours his heart out on the Xtofa-produced record.

The song “Freetown” pays homage to Sierra Leoneans and the country’s capital, Freetown. The song honors the energy of the metropolis and the tenacity of its residents. The infectious track is made up of Tekno’s smooth vocals and a catchy beat that will have fans bopping along in no time.

1. Boss-La-Oluwa-Ft-M.I.C – (1,958 Downloads)

Sierra Leonean Rapper, Alhaji Amadu Bah alias ‘Boss La’ or ‘LAJ’ releases his first official single for the year 2023.

The hip hop/rap single titled “OLUWA“, features backing vocals from fellow rapper, songwriter and record producer, M.I.C.

Boss La was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment on Friday after he was found guilty of various offences including robbery and assault. The RFM rapper may not be able to grace musical stages and lit his fans mood for the next few years, but he has shown he hasn’t lost his ability of lay captivating vocals.

“OLUWA” which means ‘The Creator’ sees the rapper acknowledging God in everything that comes his way. It is an amazing song released for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!
