Leadership Tussle in SLPP as Six Leaders Eye 2028 Presidency

Information within the precinct of Parliament has it that, about sis senior members of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party are interested in vying for the presidency come 2028 under th the ticket of the ruling party Among the six are: the former ECOWAS Speaker, Hon. Mohamed Sidi Tunis, Dr. Alie Kabba, Musa Tarawally, Kadiru Kaikai, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh and Dr. Kandeh Yumkella respectively.

Sources further stated that, these personalities have their grassroots support and anyone of them is a threat to any of the APC candidate. Sources also stated that, the former ECOWAS Speaker of Parliament who also served as Leader of Government Business; Hon. Mohamed Sidi Tunis is reportedly eying the Presidency after President Jullus Maada Bio.

Hon. Tunis according to within the corridors of Parliament said to be one of the most favorite among the lot that have hinted to vying for the flagship in 2008. Sources further informed this medium that, the former ECOWAS Speaker has been very instrumental in ensuring that, the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) regains its lost glory in 2018.

Hon Tunis, according to sources, is vying for the topmost sent to further project President Julius Maada Bio’s legacies.

One John Kallon who visited Parliament said the former Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament is a grassroots man that is relentlessly working towards the victory of the party.

He as said that, Hon. Tunis has served the Leader of Government Business for yours before becoming ECOWAS Parliamentary Speaker and has represented Sierra Leone well.

He pointed out that, among the lot eyeing for the top position to succeed President Julius Maada Bio, Hon Tunis has stand the test of time within the party.

Some Members of Parliament are also very much assertive when discussing about the SLPP successor, stating that Hon. Tunis will certainly win the race.

They said, Tunis is developmentally oriented as his philanthropist strides are visiable across all regions “I can bet anyone that Tunis bas the wherewithal to bring the country to a brighter future”, he said.

One of the MPs said the most suitable candidate to succerst President Julius Maada Hin is Dr. Kandeh Yumkella.

He said any candidate that the party forced on the SLPP after President Bio will be detrimental to the SLPP.
He said Dr. Kandeh Yumkella has played a key rule in ensuring that the North-West voted for the party during the last elections, adding that Dr. Kandeh has constituents sunlike others who only depend of the popular votes of the party.

He stressed that when elected as flag bearer Dr. Kandeh will ensure that the entire country overwhelmingly vote for the SLPP for the third term in office in 2028.

One of the female MP’s in their privilege conversation said, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh is one that people should not underestimate in terms of succeeding President Julius Manda Bio.
The female MP asid, Dr. Sengeh may clinch the flag bearer for the 2028 elections.

He spoke about the need for party members to closely look at Dr. Sengeh whom she said is proficient and he can make things happen better.

Others said Alie Kabba and Musa Tarawally have graasroots support but needed to do more if they can attract support.

Kadiru Kaikai is also one of the stakeholders that have the potential to win the race if a level playing field is manifested.

What is more important one female MP said that, female candidates from the SLPP side will emerge victorious this time around.

“We are nurturing a woman to contest for the flagship of the SLPP. A woman will become the President in Sierra Leone in the next elections”, she said.

Sources also intimated this medium that, not only the six people will contest but lots of strongmen and women will be vying for the enviable position in the coming years.

Let them put Salon first within these last three years left before they will start fighting for power 😔 some of these guys are just like Ambassadors of poverty,who are the corrupt masters of our economy with their head abroad and anus at home. Who impreverish our brothers and sisters at home in the reverse determine Marchant of loots and mostly uses us like a tools during political campaign time after they have gain political power them they forget about us or even abondom us in agony. Truly am not an APC or SLPP member or supporter, bt Dr Kandeh Yumkella as flag bearer and David Moinina Sengeh as his running mate should be the only fits candidates for 2028 that will beat APC if they are being chanced.And I will personally cross to the Slpp. And for the sake of them I will use my veto power and vocal to convert many youths in my own corner to Slpp.No one should underestimate this two candidate of winning come 2028. Save this post and mark my words.It doesn't mean my name or tribe as many people thinks and take politics wrongly,bt am saying this out of vision,and am strong in my believes.The six people that are eying the SLPP leadership can make a better team if they all are ready to play for winning come 2028. These are some of the reasons why your thuggery APC failed in the past elections , they were and still are much focus on SLPP affairs than trying to galvanized themselves and solve their internal conflicts. If you are talking about six vying for SLPP, how many are vying for APC top seat ? SLPP like before even if we get ten or more ,we know how to handle our matters better than AP but your suggestions are nothing but a way to distract us. We will cross the bridge when we get there.
