Meet Vickie Remoe, Sierraloaded Woman Crush for this week.
Born on November 14, Vickie promised to be a good fortune to the nation. As an innovative and good story teller she is, Vickie rose from the dust to the limelight, after she began her journalism journey with SwitSalone Blog in 2006 as a student. She has since been writing for the past fifteen years and still counting.
She wasn’t practically a nobody, as she had lots of academic achievement such as B.A, Political Science, Haverford College; MSc, Broadcast Journalism, Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University amongst others.
Vickie Remoe is a multi-venture and career woman who has done quite an handful with her skills and intellects. In January, 2021, Memunata recognized her book ‘Adama Loves Akara’, a children book which teaches children to read phonetically using references to West African culture, selling copies all over the world.
Vickie has used the media to create more opportunities for herself, people around her, young generation and nation at large. She represents the nation on national and international level, carrying the good image of the country around. While at home, she works remote from Sierra Leone, Ghana and the US. Her marketing agency is VR&C Marketing, an agency which create specialized communication and marketing strategies for small businesses, emerging brands, and impact driven public and private institutions that help propel them to the forefront of their industries.
Vickie vision for the journalism state in Sierra Leone is to grow the quality of the stories. She has been giving her best in order to achieve this vision. During her birthday this year, she Vickie Remoe Prize for Journalism and New Media, a program set to encourage quality stories in the country from all categories of journalism and also to encourage young generation to venture into journalism with good etiquettes.
