Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, the Mayor of Freetown City Council (FCC), shed light on ongoing cleaning efforts within the city while rallying all Freetonians to collaborate in fostering a cleaner and healthier living environment.
Emphasizing the proactive measures being taken, Mayor Aki-Sawyerr disclosed that over 100 streets undergo daily sweeping to ensure the city’s operational efficiency. She underscored the significance of collective responsibility in maintaining a pristine urban landscape, debunking the notion that garbage materializes out of thin air.
“We sweep 110 streets every morning, and we urge Freetonians to join us in preserving the cleanliness of our city. Garbage doesn’t mysteriously descend from the sky onto our streets; it originates from us! Contribute your part—refrain from littering on the streets,” Mayor Aki-Sawyerr asserted.
