Alie Kanu a professional footballer for Small Country Football Club is asking for support after facing a critical time in his career after a devastating injury sustained during a friendly match. Playing for Small Country Football Club in the Western Area Rural, Kanu’s right foot was broken when an opposing team defender stamped on it during the second half of the game.

The foot has been treated so far but Lacking the expertise touch needed for a full recovery, leading to complications. Instead of seeking medical help, Kanu was rushed to a native doctor in his hometown of Ribbi, Sierra Leone, which resulted in the wrong treatment being administered. As a consequence, his foot developed a sore and began to rot.

Kanu, a versatile player who excels in midfield, defense, and attack, has been a key player for various teams and communities within and outside of Sierra Leone’s Rural District. A recipient of numerous football tournament awards and certificates, he takes great pride in wearing his No. 6 jersey, inspired by his idol, Paul Pogba.

Now, Kanu is reaching out to philanthropists, humanitarian organizations, and agencies for support in regaining his foot’s functionality and returning to the sport he loves. He emphasizes that football is his destiny and pleads for assistance in overcoming the indelible pain and discouragement he has faced over the past year.

“I don’t have no where to go and find money or do a job, because of the current situation. But at then, when I was in the pitch my pocket never dries with the small amount I was given after a match.” He said
