On March 4, 2025, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq., provided key updates on the ongoing constitutional review and justice sector reforms during a breakfast program on AYV Television.
The Attorney General emphasized the need for a responsive constitution that adapts to the changing needs of Sierra Leone. He explained that collaborative efforts are underway to ensure amendments strengthen democratic governance and expand citizens’ rights.
“The constitutional review is vital for fairness and justice for all Sierra Leoneans,” said Sesay. He asserted that the proposed amendments are designed to create a more transparent and accountable governance system.
Sesay also highlighted President Julius Maada Bio’s dedication to improving the country’s justice sector. He detailed progress in addressing issues like access to justice and judicial efficiency but acknowledged that further work is required to ensure fair legal access for all citizens.
