The management of social media blogging page, Born2Blog has issued an emotional plea for mercy as its Chief Executive Officer, Sahr Memphis, spends a third consecutive night in detention at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
In a post shared on the platform’s official social media page, the team wrote: “We write this with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes. We are humbly pleading with the government and authorities to please have mercy and forgive our boss and CEO.”
The statement described Memphis as a “loyal son” of the community and appealed to the government to “temper justice with mercy” and grant him a second chance.
Memphis was first detained on June 8, 2026, in connection with a social media post published several days earlier in support of Mrs. Tuma Gento. According to Born2Blog, officers informed the organisation that the post was considered potentially offensive and could be interpreted as being directed at Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio.
The platform has consistently maintained that the publication neither mentioned the First Lady by name nor intended to target any individual, describing it instead as a campaign message expressing support for Mrs. Gento.
This is not the first time the blogger has been held at CID. In November 2025, Memphis spent two nights in detention over allegations of blackmail and extortion linked to posts about the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA). At the time, media influencer Prezo Koroma claimed evidence against Memphis was “overwhelming,” including alleged recordings and leaked chat transcripts.
As of now, the Sierra Leone Police have not publicly commented on the current case, and no formal charges have been announced. Born2Blog has said it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
