The newly appointed Director General of Sierra Leone’s Correctional Service, Mr. Joseph John Sennesie, conducted a spot visit to the Kabala Correctional Center on Tuesday, accompanied by the Director of Human Resources, Mr. Foday Idrissa Kamara, alias “the Lion.”

The visit aimed to raise awareness among staff about the codes and conduct of the service, emphasizing the importance of adherence to these standards in their daily operations.

During the tour, Mr. Sennesie stressed the need for unity among staff members. He highlighted that maintaining strong relationships is essential for an effective work environment. “Prioritizing unity within our team will help us achieve our shared goals,” he remarked.

In addition to promoting teamwork, Mr. Sennesie emphasized the critical importance of security standards within the correctional service. He expressed that upholding these standards will foster a renewed sense of hope within the institution.

“As your Director General, my appointment serves as a reminder of my commitment to this service,” stated Mr. Sennesie. He encouraged staff to be patient as he vowed to support their welfare and professional growth.

Mr. Sennesie’s tour of Kabala is part of a broader sensitization campaign. Following the visit, the Director General and his team plan to travel to other locations in the North East, including Makeni, Mafanta, and Magburka, to continue delivering important messages to staff across the region.

The commitment shown by Mr. Sennesie during the visit highlights the ongoing efforts to enhance the working environment and security protocols within Sierra Leone’s correctional system.
