Tonko Limba chiefdom, Hon. Ernest Dura, Member of Parliament for the area, has launched a bridge construction project aimed at improving transportation and connectivity for the local communities.

In an exclusive interview with Sierraloaded, Hon. Dura emphasized the importance of the project for the villagers. “This bridge will serve as a vital link for villagers to transport their goods to the market and for children to safely commute to school,” Hon. Dura stated.

Tonko Limba chiefdom, renowned for its rich agricultural produce, has long faced challenges due to inadequate infrastructure. Many residents, unable to afford vehicles, have had to endure long hours of travel on foot or by alternative means. The construction of this bridge is particularly crucial for the communities of Mathorthor, Masoko, Kasuna, Bombolie, and Kaguro, who have grappled with the absence of a reliable bridge for years.

The bridge’s absence has been a longstanding concern for the citizens, especially as the rainy season approaches. With Tonko Limba’s reputation as a major producer of rice and other foodstuffs, the poor road conditions have severely hampered farmers’ ability to transport their produce to the market, exacerbating economic challenges for the local communities.

Hon. Ernest Dura, celebrated for his unwavering commitment to the development of Tonko Limba chiefdom, has been hailed as a born leader by many. His dedication to his people began long before his political career took shape, earning him respect and admiration from his constituents.

The launch event was graced by notable figures, including Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara and Mr. Mohamed Mansary, the Kambia District council Chairman. Additionally, a host of senior party representatives from the district executive were in attendance, demonstrating the widespread support for the project.

The construction of the bridge is expected to be completed within a few months, marking a significant milestone for the people of Tonko Limba chiefdom. Anticipation is high among the residents, who eagerly await the completion of the project to benefit from improved transportation and easier access to markets and schools.
