Freetown City Council, Concern Worldwide and National Disaster Management Agency Conducted a Site Visit at Water Street Drainage Construction in Ward 405, Wellington.
Earlier today, team members of Climate Action & Disaster Risk Management of Freetown City Council including staff of Concern Worldwide and National Disaster Management Agency visited the ongoing drainage construction site at Ward 405 in Water Street, Wellington.
The purpose of the site visit was to assess the extent of the construction work done so far. The project engineer from Concern Worldwide reaffirms that the drainage construction is expected to complete within 3 months span. The drainage construction upon completion will drastically mitigate flooding in the said community.
The Head of Climate Action & Disaster Risk Management of Freetown Council expressed gratitude to Concern Worldwide and NDMA for the collaboration and further cautioned residents living closer to the gutter/drainage to desist from throwing garbage in the drainage.
So far, the drainage construction work is going on successfully.
