On Friday, 6th October 2023, an unexpected heavy downpour wreaked havoc in Shellmingo, located in the southern region of Sierra Leone in Bo. The sudden flooding severely impacted the day-to-day operations of the bustling area.
Footage making rounds on social media platforms paints a grim picture: vast stretches of Shellmingo submerged underwater, with both vehicles and pedestrians struggling to navigate through the inundated streets.
Particularly hard-hit were the myriad of businesses that populate Shellmingo. The flooding did not spare the CONEX fueling station either, with visuals showing the facility awash in floodwaters.
