In a poignant and emotional session at Bo Magistrate Court No. 1, presided by George Edwin, resident Magistrate at the above mentioned court in Bo city. The tragic story of Hassan Lamin’s brutal killing unfolded through the testimony of his daughter, Fatmata Lamin. The courtroom was filled with a palpable sense of grief and tension as Fatmata recounted the harrowing events of that fateful night.

Fatmata, the prosecution’s first witness, described how her father, a respected motorbike mechanic, was attacked and killed by armed robbers on the night of August 15th, 2024. Her testimony painted a vivid picture of the terror that gripped their home in the Kortumahun Layout Section of Bo City.

She recalled being awakened by her father’s urgent knock on her door, warning her of the intruders trying to break in. Despite their efforts to secure the house, the robbers, armed with a gun and machetes, forced their way inside. Fatmata’s account of her father’s bravery, as he and her brother Mohamed Kamara tried to defend their home, was both heartbreaking and inspiring.

The courtroom listened in silence as Fatmata described the moment she saw her father lying in the parlour, bleeding from gunshot wounds. The first accused, Allen Sallu, was identified as the one holding the gun, while Abdulai Turay, alias Karmoh, and Amara Bangura, alias Baby Face, wielded machetes.

This case has not only highlighted the personal tragedy of the Lamin family but also underscored the broader issue of armed robbery in Bo City. As the trial continues, the community watches closely, hoping for justice for Hassan Lamin and his family.
