The All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, has expressed strong criticism of President Julius Maada Bio’s frequent international travels, arguing that such trips are unnecessary given the presence of ambassadors who can represent the country at conferences.
Kamara stated, “All the too many travels are not necessary because the country has ambassadors. They can attend those conferences and later provide reports on the conferences to the government.”
In a bold promise, Kamara asserted that if elected, he would implement measures to reduce the budget deficit by 50%. He warned that failure to do so could lead Sierra Leone to the brink of bankruptcy. “If the current government does not cut the budget into half, the country will go bankrupt,” he emphasized.
Addressing the pressing issues in the health sector, Kamara highlighted the recent Mpox outbreak, stating, “We need money to put into the health sector. Considering the Mpox outbreak, there is no money, no antibiotics, and the hospitals are crowded.” He described the situation as an emergency, noting a rising concern over physical illnesses that remain unaddressed.
Kamara urged the government to establish a health reserve to better manage health crises and ensure that the needs of the population are met. “We don’t know what is happening,” he said, stressing the urgency of the situation.
If I become President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the likes of JFK, Politicians, CSO’S,, Religious leaders, etc whose actions or inactions contributed to the loss of civilian lives through killings, willful neglect, will ensure they rot in hell. The destruction of Sierra Leone was not done by Mad MAADA BIO alone, but by people like JFK and a lot of politicians across all political parties. Why is it only now he’s coming out to criticise MAADA BIO’s frequent fruitless overseas travels? Hypocrisy!
