Magistrate Santigie Bangura has committed 30-year-old Mohamed Lamin Turay to high court for the alleged killing of his brother, Ibrahim Turay.
The Magistrate, in his ruling, before the committal said there was adequate evidence against the accused that affirmed his committal at the high court. He said that the testimony of the prosecution witnesses implicated Bangura in the killing of his brother, Turay.
He therefore committed the matter to the high court for further trial.
Deputy Superintendent of police, Sorie Conteh led in evidence four witnesses.
The accused was arraigned on preliminary investigation on one count of murder contrary to law.
According to the charge, the accused Mohamed Lamin Turay on Tuesday 16th May 2023, at Pyke Street Freetown was said to have murdered his brother, Ibrahim Turay.
The accused made 9 subsequent appearances in court and has been in prison since then with no legal representation on his behalf.
