Magistrate Hadiru Dabor of Kabala Magistrate Court has sentenced Alie Marah to two-year imprisonment after he was found guilty of destroying property of the Electricity Distribution Supply Authority (EDSA).
On October 13, 2024, the Sierra Leone Police arrested Alie Marah, a resident of Cow-Yard, for tampering with EDSA’s transformer located in Bilmaia.
Marah was taken into custody while investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) pursued allegations of malicious damage to government property, specifically targeting essential electricity supply to the public.
In a rigorous prosecution led by police prosecutor Inspector Abdul Rahman Fofanah, sufficient evidence and exhibits were presented at the Kabala Magistrate Court, wherein Magistrate Hadiru Dabor ultimately found Marah guilty and sentenced him to a two-year prison term.
CSP Ibrahim Barrie, the Local Unit Commander of the Kabala Division, reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, declaring a zero-tolerance policy toward acts of lawlessness.
Unbelievable, two years is nothing. It should have been more than 10yrs.
