On March 14, 2024, the Barrie Help Foundation, alongside Ivorian Sillahs (“Say No To Drugs”) and the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health Burial team, laid 32 unidentified individuals to rest in Kingtom cemetery.
The cause of death for all 32 individuals was confirmed to be Kush consumption.
Mr. Sinneh Kamara, Head of the Burial team, confirmed the details. He specified that the deceased included 25 males and 7 females.
The Barrie Help Foundation provided financial support to cover the burial expenses.
The Kingtom Cemetery now serves as the final resting place for these twelve individuals, a stark reminder of the devastating impact of drug abuse on communities.
As the nation mourns the loss of these lives, it also prompts reflection on the broader challenges posed by the trafficking and consumption of illicit substances.
