Principal Magistrate Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 has committed three people to the High Court to stand trial for the murder of Hannah Williams.

The accused are 61-year-old businesswoman Sylvia Wlatee, her 24-year-old daughter Esther Wlatee, a petty trader, and 41-year-old Milton Brown.

The three are facing two counts of conspiracy to murder and murder, contrary to the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to court documents, on 11 June 2026, at No. 12 Settra Kroo Street in Freetown, the defendants allegedly conspired together and with others unknown to kill Hannah Williams. They are also accused of carrying out the killing on the same date and at the same location.

In his ruling, Magistrate Jah said he was satisfied that sufficient evidence had been presented by the prosecution to warrant the defendants’ committal to the High Court for trial.

No plea was taken from the defendants as the matter was before the court for committal proceedings.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Eric Deen represented the prosecution, while lawyer M. Sesay appeared for all three defendants.

Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered the defendants to be sent to the Male and Female Correctional Centres in Freetown pending further proceedings before the High Court.
