The Native Consortium has awarded Aminata Fuel Station in recognition of its outstanding service and commitment to the public, particularly during periods of fuel shortage.

The award was presented during a brief ceremony held in Adonkia, where the Executive Director of Native Consortium, Edmond Abu, commended the station for what he described as patriotism and dedication to serving citizens in challenging times.

According to Abu, Aminata Fuel Station in Adonkia distinguished itself by remaining operational throughout recent fuel scarcity, at a time when many stations either shut down or struggled to maintain supply.

He further noted that the station did not immediately increase its pump prices in response to government adjustments. Instead, it continued selling fuel at the previous rate of Le22 for nearly two months, even when the market price had risen to Le25.

“This is a clear demonstration of commitment to the people and national service,” Abu said, urging the management to sustain its standards and continue prioritising affordability for citizens.

He encouraged the station to maintain its resilience and customer-focused approach, noting that such actions play a critical role in supporting the public during economic challenges.

Responding on behalf of management, Mr. Jalloh of Aminata Fuel Station expressed appreciation to Native Consortium for the recognition. He said the award serves as motivation for the team to continue delivering reliable and responsible service to the community.

He reaffirmed the station’s commitment to maintaining consistent operations and supporting customers, especially during difficult periods.

The recognition highlights the role of private sector actors in supporting communities and maintaining stability during times of economic pressure.
