At the Fallah Checkpoint along the Bo Freetown highway, Ibrahim Conteh was apprehended on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, for carrying a narcotic substance known as Kush hidden within a black Bluetooth memory card tape.
Conteh, a resident of Kenema Town, claimed innocence, stating that he was unknowingly transporting the substance in a Bluetooth speaker given to him by a relative in Freetown to deliver to another individual in Kenema.
Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh hailed the arrest as a significant success, emphasizing the police force’s commitment to upholding standards and combating illicit drug trafficking.
Acknowledging the checkpoint’s history of detecting drug-related cases, Kanneh lauded the diligent efforts of Detective Police Constable Patrick Mohamed Ngobeh and Police Constable Yambasu J. for their dedication to safeguarding Sierra Leoneans’ lives and properties.
Detective Ngobeh assured continued vigilance and adherence to directives to prevent illegal activities within their jurisdiction. Additionally, the Southern Region police pledged unwavering support to AIG Kanneh’s leadership in combating crime in the area.
