Samadia expressed that the SLP responded immediately to the distress call from Dr Moriba to save the situation, adding that the police went to the scene and found students throwing missiles at themselves, and the police had no option but to arrest them, he said.

He said the students barricaded the Jui highway which made even the SLP to found it very difficult to access the location; but, being trained personnel, Samadia bluffed, the SLP was able to put the situation under control and arrested 26 students who were directly involved in the violent behaviour which the police do not expect any well-meaning student to involve in, he indicated. Adding that, all 26 students have however been granted bail whilst investigations are still ongoing.
