Police in Kenema are currently investigating the murder of 80-year-old Lebanese businessman Salim Alie Dayeck, who was found dead in his residence on September 11, 2024, with multiple stab wounds.
The main suspect, 22-year-old Umaru Sama, a shop attendant, along with twelve other individuals, is assisting the police in their ongoing investigation.
According to Regional Crime Officer East, Deputy Superintendent of Police (D/SP) Mohamed Hindolo Feika, the alarm was raised by Kamal Mamtalla Mansour, a fellow Lebanese merchant, who became suspicious after failing to reach Dayeck by phone.
Mansour reported seeing four unidentified boys fleeing the scene, prompting him to check on Dayeck, where he found the elderly businessman lying in a pool of blood.
A combined team of police officers arrived at the scene and discovered two bloodstained kitchen knives in the bedroom. The body of the deceased has since been moved to the Kenema Government Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover the full details surrounding this tragic incident.
We should not encourage or allow such act to be happening in our country, such an evil act shouldn’t be allowed herein.
Thus, if it is in Lebanon such an act happens to a Sierra Leonean nothing will happen.
I have watched a video where one of our Sierra Leonean sisters in Lebanon was raped by 25 Lebanese men in Lebanon and no action was taken.
Although we should not allow such an act to be happening in our country because we aren’t known for that but even the Lebanese in Lebanon do same thing to our brothers and sisters in their country and no action is been taken against them.
This is where SLP will vigilant in their investigations but when it comes to matter of our sisters being killed in Lebanon, the Police will never mount pressure on the Government to take action.
That’s y these Lebanese guys don’t see us mortal man these guys are maltreating our brothers and sisters with no reason
