The Sierra Leone Police Bo Division apprehended 33-year-old Fedrick Yanie, a resident of Serabu Town in the Bumpeh Chiefdom of Bo District, on Saturday, 2nd September 2023. Yanie stands accused of fatally stabbing Foday Mukoh, a fellow resident of Serabu Town, on the same day.

According to the Regional Media Officer of the Sierra Leone Police South PC: 19138 Man’s A.O, the incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute in which Yanie alleged that Mukoh had intruded into his relationship, igniting a heated conflict. Both the suspect and the deceased were known to be church mates attending the Holy Ghost Assignment congregation, and they were also living with a dependent.

According to sources, Yanie allegedly stabbed Mukoh in the left arm during the altercation. Following the incident, a team of detectives, led by Crime Officer D/ASP Lansana Busu of Bo West Division, visited the scene of the crime in Serabu Town. They collected evidence and took photographs while recovering the remains of Foday Mukoh. His body is currently at the Bo Government Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

The Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is actively working on the case to establish the facts beyond any suspicion. The investigation is ongoing, and Fedrick Yanie remains in police custody pending further developments. Authorities are determined to ensure justice is served in this tragic incident that has shaken the Serabu community.
