Regional commander overseeing Freetown East, ACP Francis Brima Meinday, decisive action has been taken against police misconduct. The focus of this crackdown of PC 16474 Mohamed Dumbuya, stationed at the OSD Headquarters, who was apprehended in the act of selling Kush from his residence in Grafton.

Under the direction of ACP Meinday, the raid unfolded in Grafton, resulting in Mohamed’s arrest with a substantial quantity of a suspected Kush substance. Authorities also seized 96 wraps of the illicit substance from his premises. ACP Meinday stressed that such activities not only violate the law but also damage the reputation of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).

Subsequent investigation revealed Mohamed’s exploitation of his police position to facilitate the sale and transportation of Kush, a clear breach of SLP’s ethical standards. Such abuse erodes the trust between law enforcement and the community, jeopardizing public safety.

In response, Mohamed was promptly arrested and transferred to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) for further inquiry. This swift action underscores SLP’s commitment to upholding the law and preserving integrity within its ranks.

This crackdown sends a stern message to any officers contemplating similar misconduct. SLP remains resolute in its fight against corruption, ensuring that those who betray trust face consequences.

ACP Francis Brima Meinday’s leadership underscores the importance of proactive measures in combating criminal behavior within law enforcement. His steadfast dedication sets a powerful example for officers.

As the investigation progresses, SLP urges the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities. With community support, law enforcement will continue working towards a safer Sierra Leone.
