Two associates of Sierra Leonean rapper and Entertainment Ambassador Kao Denero, identified as Medenero and Amadu of the Black Leo music group, have been denied bail and remanded in prison following a violent altercation involving popular musician Famous.
The case stems from an incident in February 2025, during which Famous was allegedly assaulted by individuals linked to the Black Leo camp.
The matter was brought before the court earlier this week, and the presiding magistrate ordered that the accused remain in custody pending further proceedings. The next court hearing is scheduled for June 11, 2025.
Tensions between Famous and members of Black Leo have been escalating since the February incident. Allegations surfaced that Medenero and Amadu were directly involved in the attack, which reportedly left Famous injured.
In the aftermath, Kao Denero—Sierra Leone’s Special Envoy for Entertainment—took to social media to confirm that he had been summoned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at Police Headquarters.
In his post, Kao Denero revealed that the police invitation was in connection with allegations made by Famous, including claims that Kao had personally assaulted him with a pistol. Kao was later cleared of all allegations, while two of his associates remained in custody.
The case continues to generate significant public interest, as it involves key figures in Sierra Leone’s entertainment scene. Many in the music industry and wider public are watching closely to see how the legal process unfolds.
