During a routine patrol led by Superintendent Alhaji Senesie of the Regional Police Headquarters South on Friday, May 10th, 2024, a significant quantity of Cannabis-Sativa was discovered in Mendewa, Bo City.

The operations team stumbled upon the illicit substance stored in a brown carton and promptly initiated a thorough search of the area, though no suspects were found at the scene.

Intelligence suggests that a resident named Sulaiman may be the owner of the seized cannabis sativa, which was found stored in a two-room house. However, upon investigation, no other items of interest to the police were uncovered within the premises.

The Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) has taken charge of the investigation to ascertain responsibility for the illegal drug haul. In the interim, the confiscated Cannabis-Sativa has been brought to the office of Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police Mr. Brima Kanneh, to be held as evidence while efforts to identify claimants are underway.

Under AIG Kanneh’s leadership, the operational team remains committed to combating illegal drug activities across the Southern region, demonstrating unwavering vigilance in their enforcement efforts.
