In a landmark election held on Saturday, 24th February 2024, the people of Pujehun Town peacefully elected Mustapha Brima Koroma as their new town chief.

The election took place at the Pujehun District Council School field, where two candidates, Mustapha Brima Koroma and Ensah Kaikai, vied for the position.

A total of 1,968 taxpayers participated in the election, with 56 invalid votes recorded. Mustapha Brima Koroma emerged victorious with 1,333 votes, while Ensah Kaikai garnered 590 votes. The election was conducted under the oversight of the district office, headed by the district officer Mr. Yousuf Kamara, who served as the returning officer.

The election was lauded for its transparency, credibility, and fairness, with stakeholders, the Sierra Leone Police providing security, observers, the press, and many others present. Chief Mustapha Brima Koroma’s supporters celebrated his victory on the streets of Pujehun Town, singing songs of triumph.
