Seven accused persons have been remanded for allegedly attacking Suma’s company vehicle and stealing iron rod.
The accused persons, Mohamed Bangura, Robert Kondeh and five others were in court to answer to allegations of conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny.
The CEO of the company, Fatmata Suma testified in court on Monday September 18, this year.
In her testimony, Suma told Magistrate Hadiru Daboh how the accused attacked her company’s vehicle and stole seven length iron rods.
She said it was her supervisor who contacted her that their company vehicle with registration number AYV 109 has been attacked a Calaba Town in the east of Freetown. Suma said the vehicle, at the time, was transporting seven length iron rods valued at NLe1,890.
Suma added that when she arrived at the scene the accused had already absconded with the iron rods. She also added that the accused later confessed to committing the crime.
Meanwhile, all accused persons denied the allegations in court.
In that light, lawyer representing all accused persons applied for bail but Magistrate Daboh refused and remanded them to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road until September 25, the next hearing date.
