Three people drowned on Sunday after being swept away by strong currents at the River Number Two Beach on the Western Area Rural peninsula.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released by authorities, pending official identification.
Eyewitnesses reported that the three individuals were part of a group swimming at the popular beach when they were overcome by the ocean’s currents. Despite immediate attempts to rescue them, their bodies were later recovered from the water.
