Three boys that have been declared missing around Freetown’s rural district in Sierra Leone have been found safely.

The three boys named Alpha Amadu Jagitay, Ramadan Jagitay and Abdulai Jalloh left their home at Rogbangba for Quranic lessons in Allen Town around 3 in the afternoon of Saturday when they went missing.

Police in both the rural and urban districts investigated and instituted a search for the whereabouts of the three boys.

Meanwhile the families of the boys pleaded with the local population to share in any information about the whereabouts of the boys by reporting to the nearest police station.

The recent increase in reports of missing children in the Western Area since the start of the year has raised concerns among the local population. While it is currently premature to categorise these incidents as kidnapping, residents are expressing caution and vigilance in light of the situation.

On Saturday afternoon, writer and poet, Umar Farook Sesay went public to announce that her 13-year-old relative, Florence Bangura was missing. He explained the grief the parents are going through while pleading for assistance.

Florence was reported missing on New Year’s Day, and her family has been actively seeking assistance from authorities to locate her for over a week now.
