A video depicting a father’s affectionate embrace and kiss with his daughter during a school visit at the Annie Walsh Memorial School in Freetown, Sierra Leone, has ignited a debate across social media platforms.
The footage captures the father hugging and kissing his daughter, who is wearing her school uniform, within the school compound. This interaction has drawn varied interpretations from the public.
Numerous viewers have characterized the display as an innocent expression of parental love.
One commenter, Fattimm Fofanah, said that the father’s actions were unintentional and came from his daughter’s excitement.
Also, Yawa Zazy said. “All I see is a father who thought his daughter was jumping and wanting to lift her instead. Evil minds are the ones seeing it the opposite.”
Others, like Super Rashious, criticized the negative interpretations of the act, saying “Una just wah gee d man problem at your age still thinking negatively in terms of kiss. This man really shows parental love towards her daughter.”
Titus Joseph Simbo justified the father’s actions, claiming that his attempt to carry his daughter was stopped by her backpack, which caused lot of questioned. He said that the act was harmless and represented “AGAPE LOVE.”
This video has raised global concerns about expression of affection between parents and children. For example, in Nigeria, a video of a father kissing his daughter on the lips created outrage, with some calling it as indecent and others seeing it as a cultural display of love.

There’s nothing wrong with the action of the father. Many of those who are miss interpreting the footage have never received or saw such connection or love from their parents.
I and my daughters do kiss and hug each other anytime we see and meet in person. During phone calls, our conversation never ends without them saying “I love you dad” and with a kiss sound.
However, people have rights to their opinions and how they feel or think about things.

To my view he was trying to carry the girl up with hug, that’s why he mistakenly touched her butt, you can see that he realised that she’s was with her school bag and it’s heavy to carry both. He hug her normal and kiss her by lips its normal. My question is, didn’t we changed our daughter’s dypers and kissed them by lips since early birth? And they still remain our babies till death separate us apart I will always hug and kiss my children even when they are married.
There is nothing wrong with a man kissing his daughter, whether she is big or small, without desire, so long as that is on her cheek. Kissing on the mouth may provoke sexual desire, it is better and safer not to do that.
