The family of the late Victor Onie Williams, fondly known as Effion, has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and love they have received following his untimely passing.
In a statement released over the weekend, the family acknowledged the comforting impact of the kind words, memories, and condolences shared by many during this challenging time.
“Your outpouring of love and support has brought us comfort during this incredibly difficult period,” the family said, emphasizing the deep loss they feel for their beloved son, grandson, and nephew.
Victor Onie Williams, a promising third-year law student at Fourah Bay College, was also a rising star in the world of fashion and entertainment. His family highlighted his many accomplishments and the positive impact he had on those around him.
“Effion touched many lives during his time with us, and his absence has left a void in our hearts that will never be filled. He deserves to be mourned with the same dignity and respect that he put out into the world,” the statement continued.
The family also urged the public to respect their privacy during this time of mourning and to refrain from spreading false rumors or speculating about the circumstances of his death. They asked for sensitivity in what is shared on social media, reminding everyone of Effion’s loving and respectful nature.
“Though we are devastated by his passing, we find solace in the memories we shared with him and the knowledge that his legacy lives on through the lives he touched,” the family said.
To honor his life and legacy, funeral arrangements have been made. The service will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Living Water Ministry, Congo Cross, starting at 1:00 pm.
The family concluded their statement with a heartfelt plea: “Effion is dead. We beg of you, now, let him rest in peace. There is a God.”
The passing of Victor Onie Williams has left a significant void, but his legacy as a loving, accomplished, and impactful individual will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
