The Waterloo police division has today taken proactive measures by mounting a checkpoint at the local Post Office after some residents attempted to engage in an illegally planned demonstration.

The decision to intensify security measures came in response to a planned illegal demonstration organized by some residents, who had heeded social media calls to protest against the lack of trust in the country’s electoral commission and the soaring cost of living.

In a proactive effort to maintain order and ensure the safety of all citizens, the Waterloo Police swiftly established a checkpoint at the Post Office.

The primary objective of the operation was to conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and passengers, identifying any potential threats or individuals involved in illegal activities.

Photos obtained by 24 Hours Bloggers shows that as the checkpoint operation unfolded, drivers and passengers were subjected to routine inspections, including identity verification and searches for contraband or dangerous materials.
