The legal and media fraternity in Sierra Leone has been thrown into mourning following reports of the sudden passing of young lawyer, Barrister Jamil Sesay. The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
Sesay, who was serving as a barrister and solicitor of law since May 2023, had already established himself as one of the country’s promising young legal minds. Beyond his legal career, he was also an entrepreneur, owning a production company, A Jamil’s Mindset Production.
His passion for communication and media was evident in his past work as a presenter and producer at Epic Radio 99.3 FM between September 2020 and October 2022, where he hosted entertainment and current affairs programs.
He also served as a television host with Activists on Point SL, further cementing his reputation as a vibrant voice in public discourse.
Jamil Sesay’s educational journey began at the Prince of Wales School, Kingtom, after which he pursued his law degree at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
Colleagues, friends, and acquaintances have described his death as a huge loss, not only to the legal profession but also to the broader creative and media industries in Sierra Leone.
Tributes have continued to pour in across social media, remembering him as a hardworking, ambitious, and inspirational figure.
