In a move to empower the youth of Pujehun District, the non-profit organization Youth Rise Above has announced the launch of a free two-day business entrepreneurship training program.

According to Isaac S. Koroma, the Public Relations Officer of Youth Rise Above, the organization has been actively working to support young people in the region over the past year. This includes initiatives such as skills training programs, educational scholarships, and community development projects.

“It has been an incredibly rewarding and transformative year for Youth Rise Above,” Koroma stated. “We set out with a mission to create meaningful change for the youth of Pujehun District, and I’m thrilled to say that we have made significant strides towards that goal.”

Building on this momentum, Youth Rise Above is now set to host the free business entrepreneurship training program from July 12-13, 2024. The training will take place at the organization’s compound on 31 Jah Street in Pujehun Town, with sessions running from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each day.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to the youth of Pujehun,” Koroma expressed. “The training will provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to start and grow their own businesses, ultimately contributing to the economic development of our community.”

The training program will be facilitated by John son Kabia, Allen Temoindor, John AD Alleu, Henry Smart, Boima Sundufu, and Isaac Koroma. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement.

Isaac S. Koroma further revealed that Youth Rise Above plans to host similar business entrepreneurship training sessions in July, October, January, and April, each time exploring the topic in greater depth. The sessions will cover essential topics such as the importance of having a bank account, money management, hiring the right staff, sustaining a business during difficult times, preparing a budget, writing monthly reports, and providing customers with accurate estimates.

“We are just getting started. With the continued support of the community, we are confident that Youth Rise Above will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people in Pujehun District,” Koroma concluded.
