The Presidential Spokesperson, Hon. Alpha Kanu, organized a Presidential Town Meeting in Debia Chiefdom, Gbinti Karene District on 11th August 2024.

The rationale behind the meeting is to Promote President Maada Bio’s National Town Hall Meeting at regional and district levels.

The gathering was attended by 13 paramount chiefs, local traditional leaders, and officials, and highlighted President Bio’s priorities and the crucial role of peace and cohesion in national development.

Hon Alpha Khan emphasized the importance of peace, community progress, and economic prosperity, noting that peaceful environments attract investment, encourage entrepreneurship, and boost trade. He also announced that the next Presidential elections are scheduled for 2028.

Other notable speakers included Ambassador Umaru Bond Wurie, the Resident Minister of the North-West Region, who was also chairman of the event, representatives from the Regional Peace Commission, the Local Unit Commander, Hon Alpha Timbo, Chair of the Wages and Compensation Commission, Hon Bash Kamara of the All People’s Congress, Honourable Robin Fallay at the Chief Minister’s Office, and Myk Brerewa, the Director of Communications at the Office of the President.

They all emphasized the importance of national cohesion in fostering social harmony and improving citizens’ well-being. By promoting community stability, individuals can focus on personal and collective growth, leading to a stronger and more productive population. The session ended with a productive question and answer exchange between the participants and the delegation.
