The State Opening of the 6th Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone is currently taking place today Thursday, 3rd August 2023 but notable absentees are the Members of Parliament representing the main opposition party, All People’s Congress (APC). with the exception of Mohamed Bangura.
The session is primarily attended by members of the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and Paramount Chiefs from the country’s 16 districts, and only Mohamed Bangura from the APC who had earlier defies his party stance.
The absence of APC Parliamentarians is a direct result of the party’s earlier vow to boycott government and governance in protest against the election results. The disagreement stemmed from their demand for the Electoral Committee for Sierra Leone (ECSL) to release election results by polling centers.
The recently held June multi-tier elections had caused tensions within the APC party, leading to disputes with the ECSL over the transparency and accuracy of the results. The APC’s elders had publicly announced their intention to boycott government proceedings until their demands were met.
This marks the third consecutive parliamentary session that the APC MPs have chosen to boycott since after the June 24 Multi-tier elections. As the Parliament commences its sessions for the Second Republic,
Sierra Leone is bigger than any politicians or political parties,so as a nation we are moving forward.
APC party always have different patterns of attitude,it’s clearly indicated that someone’s whose nature is corrupted shall remains to be so. Selfishness leads some people in regrettable end, which can never be resolve
Some grassroot supporter’s comments on national issues still bear flames of disrespect. I think the leaders are currently bowed to have a dialogue on issues so suit you must follow.
Then what people can say of the government attitude and what is happening? We need peace and unity in the land of Sierra Leone.
Please try to negotiate with the opposition this is not democratic
APC Mps didn’t have interest for their people and country the only have interest for thansafe, please Mr president if they want to go let them go and fill in there empty space, it can be set-up as great example. Thanks

Clear and understandable, we are demanding for transparent elections.
This is a democratic state, one should not just take power like a thief. If the elections were credible then let the ECSL produce the results on pooling stations.
Is just that so many Sierra Leoneans are fools but APC is trying to defend and protect our democracy.
The demand of the APC is clear if they the elections were credible and transparent let them publish the results by polling stations and district. After which our shall be ready to go to parliament.
If Bio believe really won the elections then what’s bad to call a re-run of the elections?
Because I believe that “pikin wae u able beat ani aw ihn b u able beat am” so if Bio is not afraid of Dr Samura Kamara then let’s go again into fresh election.
APC guys are more loyal to their party than the country. But we don’t care much about their loyalty to their political party, all we are praying for is the development of the country.
If Apc as they claimed won the election let them produce their own results by polly Station before asking ECSL to do so. We are with APC dirty politics
