Veteran journalist and senior All People’s Congress politician Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo has openly commended Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh for playing a key role in promoting productive political dialogue in Sierra Leone.
Speaking in a recent interview on Africa Young Voices Television, Ben Kargbo said the Vice President’s leadership helped transform negotiations into a more productive and result-oriented process.
Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, a member of the APC Elder Council, said Vice President Jalloh’s involvement in talks among the International Moral Guarantors, the APC and the Sierra Leone People’s Party created an atmosphere of confidence and mutual respect that had previously been lacking.
Ben Kargbo emphasised that he personally had no difficulty working with Vice President Jalloh, noting that the Vice President’s presence “opened the door for frank and honest discussions” and made it easier for stakeholders to engage in sincere negotiations.
He described Jalloh’s leadership style as direct, transparent and professional, qualities he said helped break down barriers and move the process forward.
“His ability to listen, respond and engage openly contributed immensely to the progress achieved,” Ben Kargbo said.
According to Ben Kargbo, the Vice President’s calm and straightforward manner encouraged participants to negotiate in good faith. He singled out Jalloh’s personal qualities — honesty, integrity and openness — as central to building trust during delicate political engagements, adding that those attributes inspired confidence among all parties involved.
Ben Kargbo’s public commendation, coming from a senior APC figure, underscores the potential for cross-party cooperation when dialogue is anchored in personal credibility. He argued that while the broader political framework matters, it was the Vice President’s individual conduct that made the most significant difference in the talks.
Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo concluded that Vice President Jalloh’s role in the dialogue was both impactful and reassuring, improving communication between parties and strengthening prospects for sustainable political cooperation in Sierra Leone.
