Lansana Dumbuya, National Secretary General of Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), has declared that no political party in the country compares to the APC in strength and appeal.

He made this statement during the party’s North-Western Region Retreat in Port Loko, where he urged members to heal internal divisions and work collectively toward shared goals.

In his passionate speech, Dumbuya emphasized the importance of unity as the foundation of the APC’s resilience and future success. Paying tribute to the party’s founding figures, such as Siaka Stevens and S.I. Koroma, he acknowledged their sacrifices in building the APC’s legacy. These reflections served as a call to action for members to honor their legacy by fostering peace and unity.

Dumbuya praised the leadership of former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, crediting him with revitalizing the APC during difficult times and driving national development. He highlighted Koroma’s contributions to Sierra Leone’s progress, calling for continued recognition of his efforts.

Focusing on the future, Dumbuya expressed confidence in the implementation of the tripartite committee’s recommendations, particularly efforts toward electoral justice, as a pathway to securing the APC’s victory in the next elections. He urged party members, especially flag bearer aspirants, to prioritize unity over personal ambitions, stressing that solidarity is essential for reclaiming power in 2028.

The speech concluded with a powerful call for harmony, punctuated by a symbolic rendition of the word “U-N-I-T-Y.” Dumbuya’s emphasis on electoral justice, peaceful internal competition, and the party’s rich legacy inspired members to remain steadfast in their mission. His address reflected a unified and determined APC, ready to overcome challenges and lead Sierra Leone toward progress.
