Broadcasting journalist and former station manager of Radio Democracy 98.1 FM, Asmma James on Friday 29th September 2023 had her final engagement with the staff of Radio Democracy.

According to Asmaa, her end of an era at Radio Democracy is the beginning of a new chapter, stating that the atmosphere was mixed with emotions and testimonies from staff.

She said her journey in the past fifteen years, working with young people in the media landscape and remaining relevant has not been an easy task, adding that to say she is proud of herself is an understatement.

She further thanked Dr. Julius Spencer for the opportunity given to her 22 years ago and also thanked the Board of Directors and members of Radio Democracy and also those who supported her.

She extended a special thank you to her husband for her support all through her career. “I leave with my head held right up and hand on my chest that I have left a legacy and staff with whom I am well pleased.” she wrote.
