The Attorney General and Minister of Justice has extended a formal invitation to the aggrieved Bar Association presidential aspirants, Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah and Wara Serry-Kamal, for a meeting to discuss pressing issues within the Sierra Leone Bar Association.
In a letter addressed to both aspirants, the Attorney General emphasized the importance of the meeting, stating:
“I hope this letter finds you well. I write on the instructions of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, titular head of the Bar, to extend a formal invitation to you to attend a meeting at his office.”
The purpose of the meeting is to address and discuss issues that are of mutual interest to the Sierra Leone Bar Association. The scheduled meeting aims to foster dialogue and resolve any existing concerns among the parties involved.
The meeting is set to take place on Friday, 12th July 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, located on the 3rd floor of the Guma Building, Lamina Sankoh Street, Freetown, at 3:00 pm promptly.
The letter concluded with a note of anticipation: “I look forward to welcoming you.”
The origin of this letter is weird – a state counsel writing on behalf of the AG and sending a copy to same AG! And the claim of the AG being the titular head of the Bar is just bogus. Definitely this letter is not the initiative of the AG. You cannot continue to steal your way to power, Emperor. Enough of this madness
