Aggrieved Bar Association presidential aspirants Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah and Wara Serry-Kamal have communicated with their colleagues following the scheduling of an Extraordinary General Meeting, which the newly elected executive has deemed illegal.
The virtual meeting was announced after police officers surrounded the New Brookfields Hotel, which had been slated as the venue.
In their message, they stated:
“Our Learned Colleagues,
Please, if you haven’t made it to New Brookfields Hotel for the Extraordinary General Meeting rescheduled for today at 2 pm, please stay where you are.
There is heavy police presence here and they’re not allowing anyone to access the premises of the hotel.
We’re proceeding with the meeting virtually. We will share links in about 15 minutes from the stated start time.
within the Bar Association, with Marrah and Serry-Kamal challenging the legitimacy of the current executive.
There’s a new Sheriff in town – the paopa way or no way. A sad state of affairs the country has deteriorated into. We now have a dictator, a silent and wicked one.
The wind that carries the mortal will surely not spare the pestle neither fanner , marah – warah stop stressing yourselves over spilled milk.
Marah you forgotten so soon when you used to order the same police to chase your colleagues at law Court ? Then it was good because it was in defence of your thuggery APC sponsors when they bastardized our constitution (executive powers) to remove elected VP.
Virtual or not the event is illegal and don’t be surprised if you are called in for questioning.
The Hotel manager/ management needs to reactivate their public imagery. We count on them .
