Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has sent his condolences to Libya after a deadly storm lives over 2,000 people dead.
“I express my profound sadness over the loss of lives and property by the Government and people of Libya,” Bio noted.
Storm Daniel caused unprecedented flooding in Libya which led to the flooding of two major dams in the North African countries.
“Sierra Leone stands with Libya in solidarity during these difficult times.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Libya as you undertake the rescue mission for the missing and reconstruction efforts,” Bio said.
A Reuters reporter said 25 percent of Tripoli disappeared due to the storm. It is also estimated that about 11,000 people are still missing.
