President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio have returned to Sierra Leone following their recent international engagements in Ethiopia and Türkiye.
The First Lady had traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she was officially inaugurated as the new President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).
Following the ceremony, she joined President Bio in Antalya, Türkiye, where he participated in the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. At the forum, President Bio reiterated his call for reform of the United Nations Security Council, emphasizing the underrepresentation of Africa and advocating for inclusive changes.
President Bio also took part in a Presidential Panel Discussion focused on diplomacy and global cooperation, where he shared Sierra Leone’s experience with conflict resolution through dialogue.
The President and the First Lady are now back in Freetown.
