During the unveiling of the five years National Education Sector Plan 2022-2026, on the 8th September 2022 at Aberdeen in Freetown, President Julius Maada Bio told educational Stakeholders and those present during the launching that transforming education is not cheap.
In his presentation, the president noted that the greatest blight any nation could face would be a lack of quality education
“As I have argued, transforming education is not cheap. providing accessible and equitable education with improved learning outcomes has not been cheap and will not get cheaper, given our aspiration” the president stated
He further reaffirmed that he is confident because it is an investment worth making now to make Sierra Leone the quality of education in Sierra Leone globally competitive.
He went on to remind citizens, that they already know the impact of education as a cross-cutting driver for inclusive and sustainable development. The nation development. ”That is why we have predicated our development agenda on delivering human capital development, free quality education, affordable and quality health care and food security,” he said.
