Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has shed light on the formation of the National Electoral Systems Review Committee.
The president expressed utmost confidence in Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh’s leadership of the committee, emphasizing the importance of meeting the set goals to stabilize the country’s political landscape.
President Bio revealed that the committee’s objective will be twofold.
Firstly, it will focus on reviewing the existing legal framework, institutional arrangements, and operational procedures related to elections.
Secondly, it will consider reports from both local and international observer missions, proposing key reforms to enhance the overall electoral architecture in the nation.
As the driving force behind peace and democracy in Sierra Leone, President Bio eagerly anticipates the Electoral Systems Review Report.
He envisions that the report will lay the foundation for critical reforms in the electioneering process, encompassing all Electoral Management Bodies, including the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL).
