President Julius Maada Bio announced his recent engagement with Alice Albright, CEO of the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), highlighting the ongoing collaboration between Sierra Leone and the United States.

In a tweet, President Bio shared, “On Saturday, 12 July, I had an engaging call with the CEO of the US Millennium Challenge Corporation, Alice Albright.” He praised the MCC team and, by extension, the US Government as valuable partners to the people of Sierra Leone.

President Bio emphasized his government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the country’s democracy and advancing economic development. He noted that the Compact recently approved by the MCC Board is a crucial component of their strategy to reform Sierra Leone’s energy sector.

The President expressed eagerness to begin the implementation of this vital initiative.
