The Chief Minister for the Republic of Sierra Leone, David Sengeh has expressed total confidence in the 2023 Global Education Monitoring Report by UNESCO which may serve as a boost to enhancing the sustainable development goals by 2030.
The Global Education Monitoring Report was hosted and published by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) which tracks worldwide progress toward the United Nations Global Education target.
The report was launched on the 27th July, 2023 which focuses on leveraging technology to enhance education at a global scale.
The Chief Minister maintained that the “Technology in education: A tool on whose terms?” is extremely timely, and as chair of the advisory board, it gives him a great hope as it may serve as a means of accelerating towards the goal of achieving the SDG2030 and the UNEducation2023 targets respectively.
“Technology for technology’s sake is unlikely to produce the results we need to reach SD 4. We need to put equity at the center of our digital education policies to ensure we leave no one behind,” he stated.
