The deadline for submitting all application forms through the designated Focal Persons and locations for various executive positions, ranging from Ward, Constituency, District, Regional, and National Officers, has been set for today, Monday, December 16, 2022 by the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party.
The deadline was originally set for Tuesday, December 13, 2022, but it was moved up to today to allow all prospective candidates the chance to run in the lower-level elections, which will start on December 27, 2022.
In a press release dated December 13, 2022, ITGC Secretary and Head of Secretariat Hon. Abdul Kargbo announced a decision to reschedule the dates for the APC lower-level elections as follows:
Ward elections are scheduled to be held countrywide on Tuesday, December 27; constituency elections are scheduled for Friday, December 30; and district elections are scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2023. All regional elections will take place on Monday, January 5, 2023. The National Union of APC Students (NUAS), the Person with Disability Wing, and the National Veterans Congress will be held on January 7. On January 9, 2023, the APC National Young Congress and the National Women’s Congress will meet. And from January 7 through January 19, 2023, regional conventions for the Diaspora will be held.
The ITGC also urged everyone who planned to run for office to pay the necessary candidature fee by today in accordance with the APC 2022 Transitional Elections Rules and Regulations.
