The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has engaged key stakeholders to provide updates on the progress made in implementing electoral reform recommendations outlined in the Tripartite Committee Report.

The high-level engagement, held in Freetown on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, was led by the Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of ECSL, alongside Electoral Commissioners and the Commission’s Management Team.

The meeting brought together representatives from the All People’s Congress (APC), officials of the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC), and members of the National Moral Guarantors of the Cross-Party Committee.

During the engagement, ECSL presented an update on the implementation status of 54 election-related recommendations out of the 80 recommendations contained in the Tripartite Committee Report.

The Commission highlighted progress achieved so far, ongoing initiatives, and measures being undertaken to strengthen Sierra Leone’s electoral framework in line with the reform agenda.

ECSL reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, inclusive stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of the electoral process to enhance public trust and democratic governance.

The engagement forms part of the Commission’s broader efforts to keep stakeholders informed and ensure collaboration in advancing electoral reforms across Sierra Leone.
