The management of the Electricity Distribution Supply Authority EDSA has issued a public notice about an individual under the influence of drug wearing their regalia.
“The Management of Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority notes with grave concern a video clip making the rounds on social media of a certain individual wearing the Authority’s regalia, purporting to be a staff of EDSA but is seen misbehaving under the influence of drugs.
The Authority wants the public to note that the man in the video is NEITHER a staff of EDSA NOR is he working for any of its auxiliaries?
However, being that the general public has perceived the person in question as a staff of the Authority, Management hereby commits itself to take steps to investigate the matter. In that regard, the Authority and the Sierra Leone Police have launched a search operation for the man identified in the video. Once apprehended, he will be investigated to ascertain how he got the Authority’s workplace regalia. The police will take further actions where necessary.
The Authority is mindful of the health and well-being of its employees and therefore periodically organizes health lectures focusing on the health of its employees, including the use and abuse of drugs. In addition, due to the recent spate
of drug abuse, the Authority will increase its campaign on drug abuse which has become a matter of national concern.
The Authority would like to assure its valued customers that any staff found engaged in unethical behavior will be dealt with according to the professional codes of conduct of the Authority.
The public is hereby implored to report any case of a person holding themselves out as EDSA staff or illegitimately having the Authority’s property.
The public can reach or call EDSA on 672 or 079695104, the police line on 124, or the Office of National Security(ONS) on 119”.
